• After the Fight Club.

“First rule of Fight Club: DON’T TALK ABOUT FIGHT CLUB.”

A brief respite from violence, chaos and the deafening roar of survival instinct; the only motivator to live.

Inspired by Fight Club (1999) + art direction of Snowfall (Alex Trochut).

  • Revolution in Darkness

Persepolis, a famed city in ancient Persia and a graphic novel/movie by Marjane Satrapi; Iranian-French novelist.

Desolate ups and downs of imposed tyranny (still existing today) in 1970’s Iran, observed and lived through the eyes of a young girl and woman.

With an eye on women in Iran (much like today) , holding steadfastly to the days before regime shift.

Efforts by the Ayatollahs to de and reconstruct Iranian society (starting with the women)- an unrelenting will is still the ethos of all the people; even today.

Inspired by : Persepolis (2000 Graphic Novel) + Iranian Revolution (1970+)

  • Wanderlust.

The initial ask was for a ‘classic’ beach shoot, however, archival beach photos from the Middle East, West Africa and the one iconic beach scene kiss from City of God (Cicade De Deus, 2002)- really helped cement the direction of this fun, spontaneous shoot proposed by Donya.

  • Wallflower in Jacqumus.

This moment came out of pure experimentation and I am glad that it happened. The idea was a mid 1970’s to late 80’s feel with the overall aesthetic of environment and styling.

    Inspired by Jacqumus’ SS/20 runway.

  • Takahashi Kazuki, Hirohiko Araki + me.

If you’ve ever read Araki’s Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure or opened a pack of Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, then this may look like nostalgia.

Inspired by Takahashi’s Gemini Twins + Hirohiko’s Dio vs. Joseph.
